2014 FundSource Awards Winners & Finalists
FundSource announced the winners of the 2014 Fund Manager of the Year Awards at its annual awards ceremony last night in Auckland.
FundSource, which is wholly owned by NZX, is an independent managed funds research house, supplying data to investors, financial advisers and fund managers since 1987.
The annual FundSource awards, which have been running for 23 years, recognise excellence in the funds management industries. Judges take into account a number of factors when selecting finalists and winners, assessing both qualitative and quantitative elements.
This year’s awards event drew a strong turnout of fund managers and industry professionals. FundSource presented 10 awards, including seven sector awards, and three overall awards that all recognise excellence in the industry and their respective sectors: Fund Manager of the Year; KiwiSaver Manager of the Year; and the inaugural Boutique Manager of the Year.
ANZ Investments New Zealand was named Fund Manager of the Year and KiwiSaver Manager of the Year, and received two Sector Awards: NZ Property, and International Equity. The judges said that ANZ Investments has made a significant contribution to the industry in 2014, its performances have been outstanding, and they have displayed strong qualitative attributes across their funds.
Harbour Asset Management received the Boutique Manager of the Year, a new award in 2014 that recognises an active New Zealand research-focussed asset manager. The winner is selected on their ability to deliver superior risk-adjusted performance relative to their peers when selecting New Zealand and Australian equities and fixed-income assets for inclusion in portfolios.
